Seasoned media professional with exemplary leadership and communications skills.

Thirty-five years of experience in project and program development, production, management, marketing and fundraising for broadcast and educational media. Worked at Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB); WNET/Thirteen, New York; WETA/26, Washington DC; and WGBH-TV, Boston.

Skilled producer, director of Spanish and English productions with an emphasis on Latino/Hispanic projects.

Cross-cultural communicator and facilitator on diversity issues, production, proposal development and writing.

Accomplished manager in administration, supervision of personnel, and budget and project oversight

Consultant for CPB, PBS, NPR, Young & Rubicam, The Monitor Channel. and for Ministers of Communications in Colombia, S.A, and Venezuela, S.A.

Formed Ortiz/Simon Productions, Inc. - Producers of multi-cultural film and video projects for public broadcasting, non-profit and commercial clients.

Senior Producer for VPG Integrated Media, Inc.- Producer of numerous educational multi-media projects; Spanish as a foreign language, and English as a second language videos and CD-ROMs.

Premiered "Mi Puerto Rico" - PBS l996 - the definitive documentary on Puerto Rico/US relations

Honored with the distinguished Silver Circle Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, in recognition of her 35 years in public television.

Inducted into the Academy of Women Achievers of the YWCA Boston, in 1999 and honored by Big Sister of Boston in 2001

A graduate of the National Hispana Leadership Institute, Class of 2000 and Harvard Business Management for Public Broadcasters seminar, in 1980.
